That's what our reader, Jennifer Robert I, learned when creating this five-star strawberry cake. The recipe was whelped from family nostalgia. Jennifer explains, "My married man loved his Mamaw's strawberry mark cake. He thought nary one could duplicate it."

To recreate the classic dessert, she took to the kitchen, whipping up a clobber using fresh strawberries, white cake mix and a box of flavored Congeal-O. The compounding gives the cake its mega damp texture and vibrant pink hue. To top it off, she made a fresh buttercream frosting using-you guessed it-even more fresh strawberries. In the end she earned the highest praises from her spouse. She says, "It's just as scrumptious as atomic number 2 remembers."
